Dire Dawa Food Complex S. Co. is located in Dire Dawa town in the eastern part of the country which is around 515 kms from Addis Ababa. The company started its operation in 1995 GC and it is one of the most modern food processing plants in East Africa. The company had played a leading role in the food processing industry of Ethiopia with respect to introducing new system of production and packaging as well as being the pioneer in having international systems certificates like FSMS (Food Safety Management System) and ISO 22000:2005 ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) certification. The Company’s high quality standard products have won good reputation among consumers all over the country. The vision of the company is to be a famous pasta producer with the known brand VERA in East Africa and COMESA member countries, fulfilling the internationally accepted food safety standards. The organizational mission of the company is to produce quality flour and flour based products to the best satisfaction of the customers based on FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FSMS), ISO 22000:2005 and ISO 14001:2004 Environment Management system requirements. • The company is expanded with computerized control production system machineries which increased its production capacity to: • 2,000 Quintal / Day Wheat Flour • 620 Quintal / Day Vera Macaroni • 500 Quintal / Day Vera Pasta • 200 Quintal / Day Biscuit • 110 Quintal / Day Bread VALUES The major values of the company are the dedication and commitment of the workers to their company to produce quality products that satisfy customer requirements, and to keep up the good reputation of the company’s products obtained through time.
