Ambo Polytechnic College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution located in Ambo town in the Oromia Regional State of Ethiopia. The college was established in 1998 G.C. originally as a Skill Development Center (SDC) with the aim of training skilled manpower for technical and industrial sectors. The institution began its training with about 180 trainees in seven departments and a small number of staff members. Over time, the college expanded its programs and capacity to train more students in different technical fields. From 2000 to 2006, it was known as Ambo College, and later it officially became Ambo Polytechnic College as it expanded its training programs and services. Services Provided by the College Ambo Polytechnic College provides several services related to technical and vocational education, including: Technical and vocational training (TVET) in different occupational sectors. Competency-based education and practical training to prepare skilled technicians. Cooperative training with industries to give students real workplace experience. Short-term training programs for youth, employees, and community members. Technology transfer and consultancy services for local industries and small enterprises. The college mainly focuses on sectors such as construction technology, manufacturing technology, and other technical occupational fields, offering training from TVET Level I to Level V.
