The bureau is responsible for: -Planning and implementing water supply and sanitation programs -Developing rural and urban water infrastructure -Managing water resource development and conservation -Promoting renewable energy and rural electrification -Supervising zonal and woreda water offices -Supporting hydropower, solar, and other energy projects -Monitoring water quality and sustainable water use
