Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII) is a national research and innovation institution of the government of Ethiopia that focuses on developing and applying artificial intelligence technologies to support the country’s digital transformation and economic development. The institute was officially established on May 5, 2020 to promote AI research, innovation, and capacity building in different sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, and government services. The institute works on advanced technologies including machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and big data analytics, while also collaborating with universities, industries, and international partners to develop AI solutions for national challenges. Through research, training, and technological development, the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute aims to strengthen Ethiopia’s technological capability and support the country’s transition toward a knowledge-based and digital economy.
