Edukans is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in the Netherlands, operating in Ethiopia since June 2016. The organization focuses on strengthening the education system and improving life opportunities for children and young people. Core Focus Areas In Ethiopia, Edukans primarily works in three program areas: * Basic Education: Improving the quality of primary schooling. * Skills for Work and Life: Bridging the gap between education and the labor market. * Education in Emergencies: Providing learning support for children affected by crises or displacement. Strategic Partnerships & Projects Edukans operates through a unique model of strategic cooperation with local organizations: * Development Expertise Center (DEC): Its primary local strategic partner in Ethiopia. * EDU Q-card: A flagship tool used in 150 Ethiopian schools to monitor and improve teaching quality and student learning outcomes. * Technical Training: Conducts situational analysis and mapping of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to better align student skills with industry needs.
