The Oromia Cooperative Promotion Agency (OCPA) is a regional governmental body in Ethiopia dedicated to the establishment, growth, and regulation of cooperative societies across the Oromia region. Its primary mandate involves providing legal registration, conducting regular audits, and offering technical consultancy to ensure cooperatives operate according to international principles and legal frameworks. By fostering the development of agricultural, consumer, and multipurpose cooperatives, the agency plays a critical role in enhancing market linkages for smallholder farmers, promoting financial inclusion through saving and credit cooperatives (SACCOs), and driving overall socio-economic transformation within rural and urban communities.
